Rev. Ives “JR” Franklin Harris, Jr., beloved pastor, devoted family man, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away February 25, 2025. He dedicated his life to ministry, serving as pastor at Highland View Baptist Church in Trussville and previously leading congregations at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ragland and Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Westover.
A man of deep faith and unwavering love, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren whom he had assigned each a special nickname. He extended his kindness to his neighbors and all those he met. His passion for motorcycles reflected his love for the open road, but above all, he loved the Lord with his whole heart.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Robershaw Harris; daughter, Kellie Adams (Patrick); son, Jacob Harris (Hollie); grandchildren, Madelyn Adams, Westin Adams, Brantley Adams, Kinzleigh Harris, and Braxton Harris; parents, Rev. Ives Harris and Patricia Harris; siblings, Joseph Glenn Harris, Marc Harris (Tonyia), Lisa Higginbotham (Lee), and Kevin Harris (Willie); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025.
The funeral service will be held at Usrey Funeral Home – Pell City at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, with Bro. Ives Harris, Bro. Kevin Brasher, and Jacob Harris officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Site Baptist Church Cemetery in Sterrett. There will be a time of sharing at the committal service.
