Peggy Ann Milam Obituary

Peggy Ann Milam, 87, of Talladega, Alabama, passed away on January 25, 2025. Born on October 12, 1937, in St. Clair County, Alabama, she lived a life of unselfish love and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.


A talented seamstress, Peggy spent her career at Palm Beach, skillfully crafting suits and taking pride in her work. She retired in 1999 after decades of dedication to her craft. Outside of her profession, she found joy in Braves baseball, quilting, and, above all, spending time with her cherished family, including a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Hope Family Worship Center and carried a deep, quiet faith that guided her life and relationships.


Peggy was known for her kind and generous nature, never speaking a bad word about anyone and embodying the love of Christ in everything she did. Her legacy as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend will continue to inspire all who knew her.


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, James Milam; her daughter, Kellie Milam; her brothers, Aubrey, William, and Roger; and her sisters, Mary and Bobbie. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Allred (David); her sisters, Myrt and Sue; her brothers, Dennis and Robert; three grandchildren Chase Taylor, Amber Palmore and Matthew Allred, and a host of great-grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.


A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 12:30pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The funeral service will be officiated by Andy Thomas, A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery immediately following the funeral.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Family Worship Center in Lincoln, AL, for their building fund.


Peggy loved her family deeply and lived with a heart full of grace and compassion. Her memory will be forever cherished by those she leaves behind.
