Obituary of Reavie G. Reeves

Reavie G. Reeves, 93 of Talladega passed away December 3,2022. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday December 8, 2022, at Usrey Funeral Home Chapel in Talladega, with burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park. Reverend Kevin Jones will officiate the service. Mrs. Reeves family will receive friends on Wednesday December 7, 2022, from 5:30pm- 8:00pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega. Reavie was born in Lamar County. She moved to Talladega and spent the majority of her adulthood here. Reavie loved to can vegetables and fruit. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member for many years at Stockdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Reavie was a very strong willed and independent woman. She worked at Breacon Kitting Mills; however, she worked mostly in retail. Mrs. Reavie was a very kindhearted woman, loved many and was loved by many. Mrs. Reavie also enjoyed going to Burger King every morning for a sausage biscuit and her coffee. Mrs. Reavie is survived by her son Wayne Reeves (Louise), her granddaughter Angie Mitchell (James), her great grandchildren Michael Mitchell (Kalie), Drew Mitchell, Jade Lett (Wyatt), great great grandson Hayes Lett, her brother Luther C Gunnels, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Reavie is proceeded in death by her husband Clyde Reeves, her son Danny Wade Reeves, daughter Brenda Joyce Reeves, parents Vader and Marie Gunnels, brothers Mervin Gunnels and Willie T Gunnels. Pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, Drew Mitchell, Wyatt Lett, Dale Gunnels, Lukie Gunnels, and Sandy Peoples. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega is directing services.
