Obituary of Peggy McDill Sanders Wood

Mrs. Peggy McDill Sanders Wood, 86, of Ragland, Alabama passed away on March 10, 2018 in Ragland.

Mrs. Wood was retired from St. Clair County Board of Education as a bus driver. She was a lifelong member of Ragland United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Henry McDill; brothers Clyde, J.W. and Irving McDill; sisters Gladys Hare, Ruth Webber and Dolly Boswell; first husband A.E. "Buck" Sanders; and her second husband, V.P. "Woody" Wood.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Palmer) Murry; sons, Al Sanders and Byron Sanders; sister, Frances Boswell; grandchildren, Sherry Wright, Heath Sanders, Mason Sanders and Jackson Sanders; great-grandchilden, Lauren, Sommar and Shawn Wright, Tyler Hunt, Maddie and Ella Sanders; great-great-grandchildren, Tripp and Mila; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at Ragland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ben Vernon and the Rev. Doug Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 - 12:00 at the church.

The family would like to say a special thank you to nieces Angie Cobb and Nancy Phillips for your special treatment of our mother, and to Lakeside Hospice for your loving care.
