Obituary of Kate Eason Calhoun

Kate Eason Calhoun, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Talladega Healthcare Center. Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Usrey Funeral Home with Bobby Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Laniers Cemetery.

She lived in Talladega all of her life. She owned and operated Kate's Beauty Shop for decades. She then worked many years for Woolworth's. She and her husband, Walter Junior, then owned and operated Calhoun Grocery in Renfroe until their retirement.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James Walter and Dusty Lee, and her husband Walter Junior Calhoun.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Jim Lieberman of Hidden Valley Lake, CA; son and daughter-in-law Phillip and Paula Calhoun of Childersburg; three grandchildren, Steve, Ashley and Crystal; four great grandchildren; her sister Patsy Fulmer of Renfroe; sister-in-law, Faye Eason of Talladega and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, from 11:00A.M. - 1:00P.M.at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Larry Crews, 181 Poplar St.,Childersburg AL, 35044.
