Obituary of Charles Donald Barrett

Charles Donald Barrett, 82, of Talladega passed away September 11, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Hepzibah Baptist Church with Steve Walley and Randy Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

Mr. Barrett was born at home in Mellow Valley, AL, August 27, 1935. He attended Mellow Valley High School and worked for Russell Corporation for 25 years. He then worked for Alabama Power where he retired after 20 years. After retirement, he worked in his mechanic shop until April 2017.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Vickie Waters (Mike), Crystal Wilson (Jonathan); sons, Shea Barrett, Tim Moreland, Kenny Moreland; sisters, Christine Jordan, Glenda Perry; brothers, Max Barrett (Doris), Huey Barrett (Gaynell), Regie Barrett (Anita), 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover S. and Mozelle Barrett; siblings, Derwood Barrett, Rebecca Barrett, L.G. Barrett; and wife, Bobbie Barrett.
