Obituary of Billy Joe Knight

Billy Joe Knight, 86, died July 16, 2017.  Born April 3, 1931, he was the seventh of eight children born to Henry and Myrtle Knight (and is survived by his sister Joyce Holt).  He lived his entire life in Talladega with the exception of two years service in the US Army during the Korean War, including 18 months stationed in Japan.  Billy worked at Wehadkee Yarn Mills for 45 years, where he enjoyed a satisfying career and many friends.  He was a graduate of Jacksonville State University.  Billy married Betty Jean Robbins in 1956.  They had three children:  Gary, Randy (Jenny), and Susie (Coley Cooper), and now have four grandchildren:  Jeffrey (Samantha), Justin (Laura), Kevin and Allison (Dalton Hayes) and two great-grandchildren:  Carter and Landon.  Billy enjoyed travel and was an avid Alabama football fan.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.  

Funeral services will be held at Usrey Funeral Home Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m., with an opportunity to visit family from 10:00-11:00.
