Obituary of Shirley Barber Mellon

Shirley Barber Mellon, 70, of Talladega passed away July 13, 2017 at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega with Rev. Kory Burel officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday evening at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega.

Shirley was a native and lifelong resident of Talladega and was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a loving MeMaw who adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Tommy Mellon (JoAnn), daughter Amy Steele (Brandon), grandchildren Savannah Mellon, Annabeth Mellon, Kaitlyn Mitchell, Emily Mellon, and sister Geraldine Osburn (Clifford).

She is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Lola Barber, sisters Joyce Allen, Diane Wideman, Connie Barber, grandchildren Cole Mitchell, and Emma Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Princess Emma Scholarship Fund at First Bank of Alabama.
