Mr. James Thorntont Spradley, Jr., 81, of Vincent, Alabama, passed away on February 26, 2017 in Vincent.
Mr. Spradley sang in numerous gospel quartets throughout the South. He served in the Prison Ministry for many years, beginning in 1982. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Spradley, and by a daughter, Dana Carey.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jacks Spradley; daughters, Karen Watson (Norm), Ren'e Spradley, and Sue Spradley; son, Jimmy D. Spradley; sister, Karen Fleming (Bob); brother, Wayne Spradley; six grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Usrey Funeral Home, Pell City, with the Rev. Zane Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
