Obituary of Beverly Hope White

Beverly Hope White, 76, formally of Talladega, Alabama, passed on February 9, 2017. True to her name, she was always hopeful, had a strong faith, and held a positive attitude about each new day. She loved to make new friends, travel, and dance the night away, and never met a stranger. Beverly was born in Talladega, Alabama; earned her BA in education at Auburn University; and taught high school English for a number of years, sold insurance and real estate, and created a variety of other jobs for herself. She was preceded in death by her father, James Bascomb White, Jr. and mother, Evelyn B. White, and aunt, Joan B. Nelson. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Burk Smith (Lin) and Sally Ann White; three children, Catherine Hearn Stelpflug (Joe), Christopher James Hearn (Alisa), and William Clifford Hearn, lll (Kristy); five grandchildren, William Christopher and Joseph James Stelpflug, Christopher Michael and Alexander James Hearn, and Rosemary Jane Hearn; five nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 1 – 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Talladega, followed by a service at 2:00 pm officiated by Rev. Minnie Bailey. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 400 S. East Street, Talladega, Alabama 35160, Shelby Baptist Medical Center, 1000 1st Street N., Alabaster, Alabama 35007, or Immanuel Counseling Ministry at http://www.immanuelcounseling.org.
