Memorial service for Rev. John Wesley Stanford Sr. 77, of Lincoln will be Friday, February 3, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Cherry Street Church of God. Rev. Franklin Walters will officiate. His family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 until service time.
Mr. Stanford passed away January 30, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
He was a native of Horton AL. He was a longtime minister and pastored for more than 36 years. He was licensed and ordained in the Church of God.
He is preceded in death by parents, Allen and Janie Stanford, grandson, Jonathan Powell 4 brothers, and 6 sisters.
His survivors include his wife of
55 years, Sarah Stanford, children, Huel Stanford (Lisa), John Stanford, Karen Stanford (James E. Hill), Wendy Garrison (Carl Jr.), Megan Stanford, Zackery Hudson, Dawson Stanford, Kailey Stanford, Joseph Stanford, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mildred Baker, brothers, Herbert Stanford, Jesse Stanford, Roger Stanford, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
