Graveside service for Martha Sue Gortney, 69 of Munford will be Friday, November 25, 2016 at 2 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery. Franklin Smith will officiate. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega.
Mrs. Gortney passed away November 21, 2016 at Golden Living Health Care in Oxford.
She was a native of Munford and was of The Church of Christ Faith. She loved to crochet, attend Flea Markets, and make jewelry and crafts. She was employed for a long time at the I-20 Boiler Room.
Mrs. Gortney is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nellie Pelt, daughters, Melissa and Gwendalyn Gortney, and son, James David Gortney.
Her survivors include her daughters, Kathy Clay (Donny) and Balinda McGhee, grandchildren, Timothy and Heather Clay, Hayley Brasher, Terence and Jaylen McGhee, great-grandchildren, Hayden Parden, Brayleigh Brasher, Liliana McGhee and Calep McGhee, sisters, Susie Kissic and Patricia Sides, and several nieces and nephews.
