Obituary of Mae Ernestine Campbell Goodwin Gaither

Funeral service for Mae Ernestine Campbell Goodwin Gaither, of Talladega will be Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11:00 at the chapel of Usrey Funeral Home. Ron Hurst will officiate and burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am. Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega will direct. Mrs. Gaither passed away in Texas on September 18, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband William L. “Buddy” Gaither, son James Travis Goodwin, and brother Dr. H. B. “Buddy” Campbell. She was a lifetime resident of Talladega until two years ago when she moved to Texas to be near her daughter Pam. She was a longtime member of Talladega Church of Christ and retired from Talladega Water and Sewer Department. She loved to quilt and crochet and to give the items she made to those she loved. Her survivors include her children, Pamela Goodwin Farley and her husband Mike; grandson William N. Brown, Jr. and his family; 2 great-grandchildren, sisters, Sara Jones, Elizabeth Garrison and Mary Catherine Harris; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her nephews: H.B. Campbell, Jr., Chris Campbell, Steve Harris, Scott Harris, Dale Harris, Lee Garrison and Jerry Sanderson. The family would like to thank Trinity Nursing and Rehab of Comfort TX as well as Alamo Hospice for the loving care and dignity they gave Ernestine in her final days.
