Obituary of Mary John Griffin Stratton

Mary John Griffin Stratton, 81 of Talladega, Alabama, born April 16, 1935 passed away on August 17, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Usrey Funeral Home in Talladega with Rev. Tommy Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mary worked as a Realtor and Real Estate Broker in the city of Talladega for over 30 years. She loved meeting people and showing off her city. She lived in many cities in the U.S. following her husband during his time in the US Air force. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and served on the Talladega Board of Realtors. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Lela Mae Griffin and father, George Pelham Griffin of Talladega, AL. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Russell Earl Stratton, Daughter, Sherry Gay Barber (Wayne), Son, Phillip Todd Stratton (Nanci) and Brother, Tommy Griffin (Judy). Grandchildren: Allyson Bass, Dakota Barber, Zachary Stratton, Robbyn Stratton and Marlee Stratton. Pallbearers: Travis Griffin, Tim Griffin, Steve Stratton, Kenney Stratton, Scott Griffin, Jay Griffin, Dakota Barber and Zach Stratton
