Buford Glen (Tap) Tapley, age 87, of Tallapoosa Al, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Tap was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Tap honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1948-1952. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will forever be remembered for his enduring smile and generous spirit. Tap spent many years coaching baseball and football, and his love of sports has been passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Tap was preceded in death by his mother, father, and numerous siblings.
He is survived by Virginia Tapley, his devoted wife of 61 years, sons Glen Tapley (Judy), Jeff Tapley (Patricia) and one daughter, Amy Tapley Brown (Charles). He is survived by 6 grandchildren; Amanda, Bryan, Jeff (Natalie), Jacob, Jared, and Matthew.
Family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 30 at 12:00 pm and funeral service will be held at 1:00 at Usrey Funeral Home 516 North Street E. Talladega, Al.
