Graveside services For William “Billy” Lee Bentley, Sr. 81, of Talladega will be held Tuesday July, 7 2015 10:00 am at Pine Hill Memorial Park. His family will receive friends Monday July 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. William “Billy” L Bentley, 81 passed away Sunday June, 28 2015 at the Colonel Robert Howard VA State Home in Pell City after a long illness. He is survived by wife Emilie M. Bentley, son Lee Bentley of Oxford, daughter Angie Bentley of Lincoln, daughter, Pam Bentley Cooper of Jackson, TN, daughter Tina Bentley of Talladega, daughter Phyllis Coughran of Talladega, and son Brian Bentley of Munford, sister, Betty Sue Lackey, 8 grandchildren, Christopher Bentley, Trey Bentley, Kevin Cooper, Cody Carlton, Ryan Floyd, Clay Coughran, Caden Bentley and Kylie Bentley along with 4 step-children and 6 step-grandchildren. He was a longtime resident of Talladega and was a Korean War Veteran. In the 1960’s he was one of the top dirt track drivers at Anniston Super Speedway. He was a member of Concord UMC. The family wishes to express ultimate gratitude to all caregiving staff and other departments of Col. R. L. Howard Veteran’s Home for their excellent care and to the administration for their strong guidance. We received constant confidence and strength from everyone.
